The character “Bernd” demonstrates a staged male figure which seems to come from a different time, and which puts us back into the 80s. I tried to portray a male as a cliché. I grew up with this idea of masculinity. This work deals with the generation of a role model. Unfitting suits, too short ties, and the act of hiding in the the middle- and upper-class work costume reflects in the character “Bernd”. I myself am the photographer (and) the model, the observer and the observed person. All portraits were taken using the self timer. The location chosen was the council chamber in the new town hall in Bielefeld which is still original to the 80's.

Bernd is just a little study but hopefully comes to life.
